The world of drone witnessed the two latest models by two master makers, GoPro and DJI. With the release of GoPro's Karma Drone and DJI's Phantom drone, the competition has reached the top charts, and both are giving each other a neck to neck competition. If you are struggling to make your choice between these two, here is a quick comparison to help you out.
Talking of the design, the Karma is light-weight and design in such a way that it takes very small space and can easily be carried out to different places, and it can be folded up and comes with a backpack that has enough space to keep the essential of the drone like charger, camera, controller, etc. DJI's Phantom doesn't have any backpack and is relatively heavier to GoPro's Karma. If you want to carry out the things related to the device, then it may take you another $200 to buy an additional backpack.
The controlling of Karma is easy, and it features propeller arms along with a landing gear, and with the help of remote controller, it's easy to operate. On the other hand, to operate and fly Phantom 4, it has to get connected to a smartphone, and this makes the controlling part of drone a daunting one.
Karma comes with a camera mounting place, and it supports the new Go Pro cameras like Hero 4, Hero 5 Black, and Hero 5 session. GoPro is offering a bunch of options when it comes to cameras, and that would take an additional cost of USD 200 to USD 300.
Karma is multitasking, and it comes with a grip that makes the handling part more comfortable. The grip can be attached to the Drone' head and to many of the Go Pro accessories. DJI's Osmo grip can be used to do the task, and it would cost you another $560, and it comes with an integrated 4K camera.
DJIs Phantom has a follow me mode and the collision advance mode which you won't find in Karma.
As confirmed by many sources, DJI's Phantom is expensive compared to GoPro's Karma.
