Many fans of "Steven Universe" were shocked when the animated series suddenly went on a hiatus. However, this will soon end as Cartoon Network confirmed that it will be officially back for its fourth season this November. However, it seemed like there might be some slight changes on the series.
The much-awaited "Steven Universe" season 4 is finally arriving as creator Rebecca Sugar and the rest of the team confirmed the series for November release at the recent New York Comic Con event.
To recall, "Steven Universe " creator Rebecca Sugar also dealt with some censorship issues with Cartoon Network.
"There's always a back and forth," Sugar said. "There have been fights. I try to be very emphatic about what I wanna do, and why I wanna do it, and I've been very lucky."
"When I was younger, I was very confused by a lot of my own feelings, and there weren't necessarily people who could tell me what was going on," said Sugar, who came out as bisexual earlier this year, during "Steven Universe"'s San Diego Comic-Con panel. "I think I sort of escaped into cartoons, but I certainly never saw that reflection [of myself] in a way that was helpful to me, or in a way that was something that made sense."
"It's a very diverse show behind the scenes, and because of that, it's attracting a very diverse audience," the creator further added.
"Just to see characters love each other and be these people, it's sort of hard to describe how impactful it can be," she said. "To see someone like you be loved by someone else, to know that someone like you can be loved ... anyone can know that all people are deserving of love - and [so are] wacky cartoon aliens."
Now that fans are assured for the coming Season 4 of "Steven Universe," some speculate that it could be doing a crossover to "Adventure Time," especially that the both animated series are from Cartoon Network.
Moreover, a poster was recently posted on both "Steven Universe" and "Adventure Time" Official Facebook accounts.
However, there were no official statements from the creators of "Steven Universe" and "Adventure Time," and Cartoon Network for the rumored crossover.
