Amidst NBA rumors that the Sacramento Kings are looking for a potential trade option for their power forward DeMarcus Cousins, the Dallas Mavericks are reportedly interested in bringing in Cousins onto their roster.
Morning News USA reported that a deal between the Mavericks and the Kings might happen before the February trade deadline. Nevertheless, ESPN claimed that the Mavericks will trade for Cousins during the 2018 free agency period. Either way, it is said to be evident that the Mavericks management will pursue Cousins.
Reports indicated that currently, the Mavericks do not have potential tradable young assets to lure and convince Kings. Should the deal takes place, the Dallas Mavericks are expected to offer their top five young draft picks from 2017 NBA season in order to try and bring in Cousins in their team.
Furthermore, Larry Brown Sports stated that the Mavericks are resolute on trading Cousins in order to team him up with his younger brother Jaleel Cousins. Also, it is expected that Cousins will provide the team with excellent defensive and offensive skills, and thus help them to put up high scores on the board.
Cousins might also be teamed up with the Dallas Mavericks' small forward Harrison Barnes and point guard Seth Curry, which is expected to form a deadly trio. The NBA trade rumors hinted that the strong frontcourt will help the Mavericks to enhance their overall gameplay and thus become one of the strong contenders in the NBA league.
On the other hand, the Kings are reportedly keen on trading their power forward in order to bring in more young assets onto their team's roster. The deal with Mavericks is expected to help the Kings to fulfill their desire of having core young team.
However, none of the teams have officially commented on the rumored trade scenario involving DeMarcus Cousins. Stay tuned for more updates and NBA trade rumors on the Dallas Mavericks and the Sacramento Kings.
