The Google Nexus 7 was expected to be announced at the recently concluded Google Pixel event. However, the company is mum about their highly-anticipated device.
Though it was not mentioned at Google October event, rumors are rife that it will come out before the year ends.
Some speculations suggest that the most awaited device will be released on December as it will be a perfect gift for a holiday season.
According to PC Advisor, "At the beginning of September, trusted leakster @evleaks tweeted that Google's Huawei-built 7 in tablet was on track for release before the end of the year," and "that's as good as confirmation that a new Nexus 7 is in the works - but it's not necessarily called the Nexus 7."
There were reports circulating on the web, saying that a Google Nexus 7 will be branded as Pixel 7since the company has allegedly killed its Nexus brand. Some speculated that the Nexus 7 will be the last device in the Nexus series and Google will go for its Pixel line. However, this is still to be verified and Google has yet to give official statement if it will rename their tablet.
Moreover, the device is hinted to be manufactured by HTC, as spokesperson for the Taiwanese consumer electronics group told PC Advisor that Google is working with HTC.
"HTC is excited to work with Google to create the new Pixel smartphones," the brand's representative said."Google and HTC have a long and storied history together, from developing the first commercially available Android product, the HTC Dream, and the first expectation-defying Nexus phone, the Nexus One, to HTC's award-winning One and Desire smartphones running the latest and most innovative versions of Android. We're proud that when Google needed an industry-leading partner for the Pixel, HTC was the clear answer."
Meanwhile, the Google device is expected to house the Andromeda OS instead of the Nougat operating system.
It is said to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820(SD 820) combined with Adreno 530 GPU and 4GB RAM and 64 GB of internal storage.
In terms of its battery, the Google Nexus 7 2016 is speculated to pack 5100 mAh battery capacity and sport a USB Type-C connectivity.
Rumors about the Google Nexus 7 2016 continue tp get louder until the company decides to break its silence.
