Apple introduced the iPhone 7 a few months back with many interesting features. What did not go noticed is the fact that for the first time, it came in two black colors: black and jet black.
The new exterior colors look sleek and fashionable. However, there are considerable differences between them.
Jet black is high-gloss black aluminium finish which is reflective, unlike black which is less intensive and diffuses reflections. Black, in other words, is more or less the matte black.
Compared to black which is quite nearer to dark grey, according to Phone Arena, jet black is darker.
One of the biggest deterrents with jet black is that it gets smudges and fingerprints quite easily. There is even a disclosure on the website of Apple according to Cnet, which states that jet-black could easily show scratches. The black option does scratch but it is not as noticeable as it is on the jet-black. There is absolutely no need to worry about fingerprint smudges and black is much cleaner in that perspective.
Similar to the above, jet black also seem to accumulate micro scratches just from normal usage. Black option is capable of withstanding all those much better.
Black also has a deterrent- it can feel a bit slippery in hands. Jet black does not feel slippery at all.
As jet back exterior colors are only available in 128 GB and 256 GB iPhone 7 models, it is expensive compared to the black option. Jet black is only available in limited numbers. The black color is widely available in all variants of iPhone 7 and in a way less expensive than jet black.
Black seems to be the best color option for iPhone 7. It looks better and has a better chance of lasting longer than the jet-black finish.
