The latest rumors about the upcoming iPhone 8 hinted that the Apple device will be launched with a revolutionary design, specs, and features as compared to the earlier installments. Reports claimed that the smartphone will consist of all-glass chassis with OLED display on board.
Express reported that the Cupertino-based technology giant is expected to introduce the iPhone 8 with edge-to-edge OLED display in the space left blank because of the removal of the physical Home button. Rumors suggested that Apple device will consist of a display panel spread across the entire front section.
It is stated that the fingerprint sensor and the front-facing selfie camera might be buried underneath the glass display panel in the upcoming iPhone 8. Reports claimed that according to the patent filed by the technology giant, in order to embed the different components beneath the glass chassis, they will be relocated to a new location.
"In a typical device, a light sensor is laterally displaced from an active display region of the display along with a front face of the device," according to the Apple patent description, as reported by Yahoo.
"Additional space is therefore provided in common devices at the top, bottom, or side of the active display area to accommodate the light sensor. This can result in an undesirable increase in the size and weight of the device if care is not taken; displays may be bulky or may be surrounded by overly large borders. It would, therefore, be desirable to be able to provide improved electronic devices with light sensors and displays."
On the other hand, Business Insider reported that the new iPhone 8 will also sport an aluminum frame along with some revolutionary features like the wireless charging option. Also, the new phone is also expected to incorporate few iPhone 7's features like the new iPods.
However, Apple has not officially commented anything on the upcoming iPhone 8's specs and features. Stay tuned in here for more rumors and updates.
