The third team involved in the rumored trade is the Los Angeles Lakers. Reports claimed that Davis will prove as the important strategic player for the Bulls' team.

HNGN reported that the adding Davis onto their roster will help the Chicago Bulls to improve their defensive gameplay in the new NBA season. Reports suggested that the Bulls are eyeing Davis and shooting guard Dwyane Wade's partnership in order to put up high scores on the board and thus provide a tough competition to other teams in the NBA league.

On the other hand, reports claimed that the Pelicans are in the process of rebuilding their team and the rumored trade scenario is expected to help them achieve their goal. According to the details, the Pelicans are expected to receive Chicago Bulls' power forward Nikola Mirotic and Bobby Portis. Besides, the New Orleans Pelicans will also get Los Angeles Lakers' small forward Brandon Ingram, point guard D'Angelo Russell, and Jose Calderon as a part of the trade.
