While the latest Apple iPhone 7 and 7 plus are still fresh from its release last September 7, rumors about the coming out of the iPhone 8 in 2017 is now making rounds.
Experts have been giving hints about the upcoming iPhone 8 that would excite iPhone fans more than they had with the recently launched version.
If the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus ditched the audio jack, the charging of its successor could also be wireless.
According to an in-depth report by VentureBeat, Apple is the only company that passed the requirements of embedding the WattUp technology in its devices to be provided by the Nasqad-listed company Energous which will enable the phone to be charged without wires.
"The WattUp reference design would only undergo compliance testing at Apple if Apple is evaluating its use in one of its portable devices. And the fact that Energous names the company so nonchalantly and unambiguously seems to be suggestive of a well-formed relationship between the two," noted VentureBeat after securing a document from Energous specifying "Apple compliance testing."
Another significant development in the rumored phone is its full glass OLED/AMOLED display. Trusted Reviews quoted a report from Japan's Nikkei News Agency that Foxconn (Hon Hai Precision Industry), Apple's supplier of metal chassis, has been developing a "glass casing to replace the standard metal chassis". The device might also sport a 5.2 to 5.7 inches screen.
Lesser buttons could also be expected from the upcoming device.
"The new, intelligent home button is a capacitive button for the first time in the iPhone's history. That means Apple is getting ready to incorporate that button in the screen, while also perfecting technology that can tell the difference home button presses and 3D Touches and deliver the accurate response. The fingerprint sensor would all move to the screen in such a scenario," speculated BGR.
The iPhone 8 is said to be released during the Apple's 10th year anniversary on the last quarter of 2017.
