"The Man in the High Castle" season 2 promises an unpredictable plot and expanded cast. The new installment of Amazon's TV series will focus on the title character, the author named Hawthorne Abendsen and Joe's new love interest, Nicole Becker.
Isa Dick Hackett, the executive producer of the series, revealed to Deadline that the forthcoming sequel will deal more about to the "man in the high castle" himself, author Hawthorne Abendsen.
"Yes. That was supposed to be big news," joked executive producer Hackett in an interview claiming that the introduction of the key character seemed to get little response from the audience.
Moreover, according to Entertainment Weekly, Australian actress Bella Heathcote will be joining as a series regular for "The Man in the High Castle." She will be playing the role of Nicole Becker, a young filmmaker from Berlin who crosses paths with Joe (Luke Kleintank). Nicole will eventually become Joe's new love interest.
Though, the developer and showrunner of the series, Frank Spotnitz, left, the cast and crew of the alternative history web television series are confident nothing will change.
"We are running in many ways like a republic. ... There are sort of senior powers in sort of every aspect of (the show) that Frank put in place. No one would choose to build a show this way, (but) at this point we have, I think, a system that is working as good as we can make it, and we will continue to find ways to improve it," Zucker said.
"The Man in the High Castle" is based on Philip K. Dick's 1962 novel, "Hawthorne." It has answer to the question; "How would it be like if Allied forces had not won World War II?" The series features more of the brand new alternate history from the one people knew about.
"The Man in the High Castle" season 2 will premiere on December 16 at Amazon Prime Video.
