The TVOS, an operating system software platform that runs on the fourth-generation Apple TV, just had its first major update: TVOS 10, the Macworld reported and is now officially available for public as it was released on September 13 along with iOS 10 and watchOS 3.

With the release of the new Apple operating system designed only for the fourth -gen Apple TV models, users can now enjoy a lot of new features as it brings some new capabilities including Siri, which allows searching for content by topic, with more natural-language-based queries. It also comes with Live Tune-In features that let users to command Siri to takeoff a supported app's live channel.

Moreover, owners of Apple TV can now manage HomeKit-enabled accessories with the use of Siri. They can simply ask Siri to "turn off the lights" or "set the temperature to 60 degrees." In addition, YouTube and other third party apps, now support Siri, the source said.

What's more exciting about this TVOS 10 is its dark mode feature, which changes Home screen and Apple Apps to a dark gray theme from a usual bright white theme. This is good when you are watching a movie in a dark room while eating popcorn.

However, the good news doesn't just end here as there is a restyled Apple TV remote app with touch navigation, Siri and game play support. Using the built-in-mic or keyboard, you can ask Siri some queries.

The Apple has introduced Single Sign-On and users only have to sign in once to authenticate all apps and any Apple TV compatible app you download to iOS to enjoy immediate access to their favorite video channels that are included as part of their pay-TV subscription.

Furthermore, the photos for TVOS now support the new Memories feature, making it easy to relive significant moments in a user's photo library and share them on the big screen. Memories are automated collections of photos based on date and location.
