Samsung recently launched the 2016 edition of the Galaxy A9 Pro phone, while Apple also released its new iPhone 7, its iPhone 6S Plus is still a great value especially for consumers looking for upper mid-range smartphone with bigger screen and better battery performance.
Design and Features
If you have been following Samsung's recent launches, you will find that the Samsung A9 Pro's design is familiar and consistent with its glass and metal design language with the Galaxy Note 5. It is available in Super AMOLED 6-inch screen with 1080 x 1920 pixels and 367 ppi resolution. It features scratch-resistant glass corning gorilla glass 4, light sensor and proximity sensor.
The 6-inch size of the device is not meant for long one-handed usage, rather, it seems to be awkward for those who have average-sized palms, based on reports.
On the other hand, Apple has not necessarily made the perfect case for the super-sized iPhone 6s Plus because it has a larger, sharper 5.5 inches screen.Still, it is a sleek and slim phone with a thicker and sturdier than its predecessors.
However, some extra bezel on its sides means that Apple's biggest phone feels a little larger than a hand, which can make holding it feel clumsy. It was also reported to be unofficially pretty resistant to getting splashed.
Battery and Storage
Battery is one factor in which smartphone users consider before considering one gadget on their list.
As for these two gadgets, the Galaxy A9 Pro consists huge non-removable Li-Ion 5,000 mAh battery which provides long-lasting battery life. The phone also features fast charging support via microUSB v2.0, as reported by GSM Arena.
On the other hand, the iPhone 6S Plus offers not as much as the Samsung's with its non-removable Li-Ion, 2750 mAh battery. Phone Arena reported its stand-by time is up to 16 days or 384 hours and talk tine is 24 hours.
When it comes to storage capacity, the Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro has a 4GB RAM system memory with 32 GB built in storage which is also expanded via microSD up to 256GB. Meanwhile, the iPhone 6S Plus features 2 GB RAM system memory and a built-in storage which is available in three variants: 16 GB, 64GB, and 128 GB.
Camera
The Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro has a 16-megapixel camera with LED flash, while the iPhone 6S Plus is only available with a 12-megapixel camera (but with dual LED flash). Both have camera features like face detection, self-timer, digital zoom, and geo tagging. However, the Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro has a wide angle, while iPhone 6S Plus features High Dynamic Range mode (HDR).
The two gadgets, given their features and specs, are two of the best you'll find on mid-range phones today. The Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro and the iPhone 6S Plus are almost equally matched and consumer preference will be the only deciding factor.
