Previously, the iPad Air 3 has been rumored to be released in the fall of 2016, however, there were speculations that Apple has been focusing on the launch of other variants of the iPad. Based on recent reports, it seems like the device will be out by March, 2017.

Nonetheless, the anticipated iPad Air may already be long overdue. This is in view of the fact that its predecessor was released quite some time ago, in October 2014.

Moving on to the rumored specifications of the iPad Air 3, the new iPad will probably come in three variants - one with an internal storage capacity of 64 GB, the second with 128 GB, and a high-end version with 256 GB.

According to sources, the device will come with a slimmer design at a 6.1mm and a harder aluminum body compared to the previous versions.

Moreover, iPad Air 3 is rumored to feature a 9.7-inch display; 2,048 x 1,536 pixel resolution and may come with an improved fingerprint scanner integrated on the home button, similar to the current-generation model.

The high-end device is also expected to be powered by an A10 chipset and its operating system will most probably be the iOS 10.

It has also been rumored that the audio quality of the device will be upgraded it will reportedly have speakers similar to that of the iPad Pro.

The iPad Air 3 is expected to come with a starting price of $599. However, some rumors say that if Apple will not use the iPad Pro 9.7's True Tone display on the new device, it could be sold at a price of around $400.

Apple may still have a lot of surprises in store for its fans. Nevertheless, more and more leaks will surface online as the iPad Air 3 announcement comes near.
