It was confirmed that the original series which give birth to "The Originals" will end on its eight installment. Furthermore, reports revealed that some characters from "The Vampire Diaries" will move over to greener pastures: New Orleans.

Fans of the TV series know there has been a crossover between the two shows in the past. While some fans have been waiting for another crossover to happen, the long wait may be over since reports hints that Stefan Salvatore and Caroline will be most likely to move over to "The Originals."

Stefan Salvatore played by Paul Wesley is the most acceptable vampire to make a move from "The Vampire Diaries" since he has gone over to "The Originals" several times in the past. Along with him, as per reports would be Caroline (Candice King) who may want to settle down with Stefan after their "Mystic Falls" ending.

Recent reports suggest that if the highly anticipated crossover won't ever take place, the spin-off series might end up getting canceled.

Furthermore, there are already rumors saying that "The Originals" Season 4 in the brink of cancellation since "The Vampire Diaries" is also ending.

However, according to CW boss, Mark Pedowitz, "The Vampire Diaries" finale season has nothing to do with the fate of "The Originals" season 4. He further added that the series can stand well on its own even without its predecessor.

Meanwhile, spoilers revealed that there will be reduced episodes in "The Originals" season 4. Phoebe Tonkin shared that this 13-episode season will somehow change the pace of the TV series and presenting more condensed storylines.

Interestingly, spoilers also claim that there will be a time jump when the CW drama returns on air.
