Initially launched for the PC in 2014 and hailed as one of the best in its class, Kunos Simulazioni's "Assetto Corsa" is set to make its way to the PS4 and Xbox One racing tracks soon, and the early reviews are looking pretty good.

Here are some of the reviews we have gathered for the upcoming PS4 and Xbox One versions of "Assetto Corsa."

USGamer - 4.5 out of 5

USGamer praised "Assetto Corsa" for its authenticity, calling it "a great-looking, excellent-sounding, meticulously crafted simulation that offers a very realistic racing experience."

However, as the review says, its authenticity comes at a cost. Players would require a "considerable investment" of their time to get the most of "Assetto Corsa" due to its steep difficulty level.

Overall, players who are looking for a challenge should take "Assetto Corsa" for a spin. Read USGamer's full review here.

Digital Spy - 3.5 out of 5

Digital Spy said that "Assetto Corsa" may not be for everyone, mainly because of its "horrendously challenging" career mode. The Italian racing sim is "not a casual gamer's sim-style racer," and may be off putting for those who have grown up with the likes of "Gran Turismo" and "Forza."

However, "Assetto Corsa" is an excellent racing sim, and with its superior handling model and immersion, it can be at par with other popular racing sim titles, if not better.

The online multiplayer mode is also a plus for this racing sim, offering "smooth, lag free action."

It may not be an everyday casual racing sim, but for players who are looking for a close to authentic racing experience, "Assetto Corsa" is for you. Read Digital Spy's full review here.

Trusted Reviews - 3.5 out of 5

As far as the authenticity of "Assetto Corsa" as a racing sim goes, Trusted Reviews echoes the sentiments of other game publications.

It does not have the visual brilliance of current titles like "Gran Turismo" or "Forza," so players looking for eye candy may be a tad disappointed. That does mean that "Assetto Corsa" does not have any beautifully modelled cars, because there are some visually stunning models in the game as well.

The career mode is "unforgiving," and while current racing sims will offer to assist players to be better on the race tracks, "Assetto Corsa" expects racers to be an expert from the get go. There is no learning curve in "Assetto Corsa," and as Trusted Reviews put it, it only takes "one mistake to keep you out of the all-important medals you need to progress."

Overall, Trusted Reviews call "Asseto Corsa" "tough, demanding and a bit too hardcore," but is a worthwhile racing sim nonetheless. Take a look at Trusted Reviews' full review here.

"Assetto Corsa" will be out on Playstation 4 and Xbox One today in Europe, and will be launched in North America on August 30. Check out more reviews for the PS4 and Xbox One, as well as some earlier PC reviews for the game on Metacritic.
