- Find out the Flash notifications option and click on it.
- You can choose the notification type- either the camera flash or the Screen flash.
- Tap the Screen Flash option, and you will be able to select a color of your choice for your flash notifications. Preview will allow you to preview the effect before saving the changes.
- Once you are satisfied with the settings, tap Done to save your preferences.
To test out your settings, simply tap Preview to see how the flash notifications will look.

You can also access the Flash notification settings through the Accessibility section:
- Go to Settings > Accessibility > Flash Notifications.
Follow the same steps to adjust your camera or screen flash settings as described above.
Flash Notifications: Tips for Better Use
- Color Settings: By default, the color for screen flash notifications is yellow. You can change it to any color that suits your preferences.
- Preview Feature: Use the Preview feature to see the impact of your changes before you make them final. This will allow you to see the effect of the flash notification in real time.
- Light Sensitivity Warning: Flash notifications can be problematic if you are sensitive to bright lights. Depending on the individual, the flashing light can cause a distraction.
How Flash Notifications Work
Flash notifications can be triggered at any given time, such as incoming calls and alarms from other notifications.
- Incoming Call: The screen, camera light, or both will flicker continuously until you answer the call.
- Alarm: Whichever is set, your alarm, the screen, or the camera light will flicker continuously until you either dismiss or snooze it.
- General Notifications: For any other alert, the screen or camera light will flicker a few times to notify you of an incoming message.
Additional Settings and Tips
Flash notifications will still function even if your device is in Do Not Disturb mode so you do not miss such important notifications as alarms or calls.
If you switch silent mode on, then flash notifications will work but vibrations on the other hand will be disengaged this is especially very helpful during those times when one needs to keep the phone silent but the visual alert still wants to happen.
Flash notifications are an excellent way to be alerted without any use of sound. Be it a camera flash or screen flash, the feature has notifications as an independent tool with lots of customization options.
So, just have concern over light sensitivity, test settings in a proper and safe environment, and your flash notifications will work perfectly.
