The latest NBA trade rumors hinted that the Boston Celtics are done selecting players for the upcoming season. The Celtics Director of Player Personnel Austin Ainge recently addressed the NBA Draft trade talks and said that the team wanted to sign more players, but they decided to pass on as the exchange costs were too high.

"We were aggressive in trade talks but those depend on price," said Ainge the Celtics Beat podcast. "We were just trying to make the best decisions we can. We're trying to get a star but price matters. If our fans saw the prices on some of the trades and agreed that we made the right decision."

The director said that the only player that fitted the Boston Celtics criteria of having excellent talents with low cap space was Jaylen Brown, hence, the management went ahead with the Draft pick option instead of a trade.

Moreover, Ainge added that even if the Celtics had decided to upgrade Jimmy Butler with a new player, they will have had to look out for a similar player with great talents to replace him. He also said that it might have been very difficult to find a perfect on-court defensive combination similar that of Crowder and Butler.

Furthermore, Ainge claimed that they the perfect team with players like Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Marcus Smart, and Avery Bradley, which can take over any team in the NBA league, reported Mass Live.

The NBA trade rumors hinted that the Celtics might go ahead with the Dwyane Wade, Rajon Rondo, Al Horford, and Jimmy Butler combination and try to win many games in the upcoming season. However, Austin Ainge said that the Boston Celtics will give a chance to younger players in their roster to prove their worth.
