Telltale's "Batman: The Telltale Series Episode 1: Realm of Shadows" was just released, and it might not be surprising to fans that the game is very well received. Here are some reviews that supports that games well-crafted execution.
According to IGN's review of the first episode from Telltale's possibly highest profile game release, the game does feel and live to the hype as a telltale game.
The game lets the players experience three dynamic aspects from the same character of the Batman as the brawler, the detective and the politician in his Bruce Wayne persona.
Some lines and dialogues felt a bit exaggerated, but the review looks forward to the later episodes not to dwell too much on this minor shortcoming as the combination of the detective work and combat outshines it all.
"Batman: The Telltale Series offers up the true Dark Knight experience, letting players make tough choices and gather clues as both Batman and Bruce Wayne." Anthony Taormina of Gamerant states in its review of the first episode.
The game, according to the review, was linear, but this is to be expected from a Telltale game and it's not even half bad.
The plot may be a bit thin at the moment, but it did show some hints about a bigger scheme going on and just being masked by the story about pursuing Carmine Falcone.
According to Batman News' review, the game felt a bit underwhelming on its first half, but slowly picked up the pace after going past the Bruce Wayne missions. The Batman detective mode lets the game connect with the players and be immersed with what's going on.
Some elements have been based-off the original lore while there had been some new features introduced in the game like Wayne Memorial Hospital replacing Arkham Asylum and Oswald Cobblepot's appearance.
There are no release date window for Episode 2 yet, but fans can now purchase the game for multiple platforms, prized at $29.99.
