Our Samsung Galaxy Note 7 vs. Galaxy S7 report hinted at a fierce war between the two devices. If the Galaxy Note 7 phablet is packed with notable features like dual-curved display, S Pen stylus, and water resistant design, the Galaxy S7 sports higher pixel density and Micro USB port.

The competition between the two devices is very close. However, it can be said that the Galaxy Note 7 has an edge over the S7 phone in many areas.

To start with, it is to be noted that the Samsung phablet sports a metallic chassis with dual-curved glass front. The Galaxy Note 7 also has both an Iris recognition and fingerprint sensor on the front panel for added security measures. The device is touted to be water and dust resistant with the help of IP68 technology.

On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S7 features a flat body panel with just the fingerprint scanner on the front. It is also has both water and dust resistant similar to that of the Note 7.

When it comes to display, the Galaxy Note 7 has added advantage over the Galaxy S7 smartphone.

The former device sports a 5.7-inch screen with Super AMOLED display and Quad HD resolution. It also consists of few extra features like the Always-on display and Mobile HDR. The Samsung Galaxy S7 offers the sharpest display with a 5.1-inch screen with similar Super AMOLED display. Even though it has same Quad HD resolution, the smartphone will provide you with a slightly higher density of 577ppi as compared to Galaxy Note 7's 515ppi.

In terms of performance-related specs, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has an octa-core Exynos 8890 chipset along with 4 GB RAM whereas the Galaxy S7 features both Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 and Exynos 8890 Octa processors depending on its 32 GB and 64 GB storage variants. The latter device also consists of a 4 GB RAM.

The phablet is touted to have a higher battery capacity of 3500 mAh with the options of fast charging and wireless charging. It also consists of a USB Type-C port for faster data transfers. On the other hand, the S7 has a 3000mAh battery with Micro-USB port.

Both the devices share same camera specs with a 12-megapixel rear and a 5-megapixel front camera. The Galaxy Note 7 and Galaxy S7 camera also have 4K video recording, phase detection auto focus, LED flash, and Auto HD.

Also, the phablet and the smartphone run on the Android Marshmallow OS with the difference in their versions: the Galaxy Note 7 features the Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 version, whereas the S7 device has the regular one.

As far as the prices are concerned, the Galaxy Note 7 is priced at US$ 900, while the Samsung Galaxy S7 is available for US$ 670. To make a choice between the two devices will totally depend on your requirements and budget.
