Although there has been no official confirmation about the possible release date of iPhone 8, many speculate that it might be released in September 2017.

Daily Mail speculated that the iPhone 8 will carry the rumored iris scanner feature, which has been added as a security measure.

Moreover, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also teased that the next iPhone might sport facial scanners along with the iris scanner.

Meanwhile, Apple's latest iPhone will be made of A10 processors and A11 chipset. The new era of handsets will also come with a wireless charging function.

In addition, reports suggested that the 2017 iPhone will house a glass body. Apple has not done this since the iPhone 4S and is said to be innovating on the design this time around. The most prominent con might be that glass breaks easier and is heavier than aluminum.

According to Kuo, this would not be a hindrance as innovations like Gorilla Glass are sturdier than its previous versions.

The iPhone 8 might also sport a better-quality screen with an edge-to-edge organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display. It is also speculated to do away with the home button. Thus it seems that the latest iPhone is all set for a design revamp.

It is also speculated that along with the OLED display and the lightweight features, the Apple iPhone 8 will be sleeker, glossier, and more durable than its predecessors.

Allen Horng, the CEO of Catcher Technology, affirmed the rumor. Horng's company is a known supplier of Apple Inc.'s iPhone components. According to Macrumors, "[A]t least one 2017 iPhone model will include a glass backing, but Apple might pair one glass-bodied model an aluminum-bodied model."

Based on these news tidbits, Apple is perhaps all set for its biggest flagship product launch next year, but fans will have to wait to know more about its specs and release date. For now, all eyes are on the iPhone 7.
