With the anticipated reboot of "Samurai Jack" in 2016, it appeared that there has been no official announcement yet if fans should expect a movie or a series.
More than a decade after it was last seen on Cartoon Network, the animated television series will finally be back this year. However, the format of its return has remained unclear.
Should fans anticipate a new season of the series instead of a new movie?
At the 2016 San Diego Comic-Con, creator Genndy Tartakovsky talked with the press and shared their plans about the "Samurai Jack" reboot in 2016.
In the report of Comics Beat, the showrunner hinted that a new season is up.
According to him, the fifth season of "Samurai Jack" will already be the last and final run with a total of 10 episodes.
When asked if changes are expected in the remake, his response was a big "Yeah."
"Luckily we got pretty much everybody back with the original show, but the hardest thing is us, because we're so ambitious, and our ideas are so big, that they're hard to do in television," Tartakovsky said about the highly-anticipated "Samurai Jack" reboot in 2016. "TV is all about schedule and budget."
Meanwhile, when he was prodded to comment if the upcoming remake will end the way he wanted, the executive producer disclosed that "No. There's a story I wanted to tell, probably after I finished."
As fans' excitement might have been observed, Comics Beats noted that the new season will not be back until early 2017.
On the other hand, The BitBag reported that a different Jack will be seen in the new season.
"Jack's realization that he is becoming the worst part of himself, that he is allowing Aku's relentless attacks, his ruthless torment, to break him, to accomplish exactly that which his nemesis desires," Geek.com's Aubrey Sitterson reportedly said.
