The 5D Mark IV is Canon's upcoming high-end DSLR offering. With rumors about the camera's specs, will it be worth the upgrade from Mark III or is there something else worth switching to?

As FirstPost reported, the Canon 5D Mark IV is likely to be launched in just a few months and with that said, consumers will have the chance to upgrade to another amazing Canon DSLR. However, some specifications are yet to be clarified by the company so consumers still have to take the rumors as a grain of salt.

One big update according to Canon Rumors is the 30MP sensor. As the community described it, it would be a nice feel that we can get from the higher-tier 1DX Mark II and the some 5Ds.

Aside from the 30-megapixel resolution, rumors also state that Canon 5D Mark IV may get anti-flicker technology that will be handy in avoiding poor exposure caused by flickering overhead lights.

Now, owners of the Canon 5D Mark III may be on the fence right now given the rumors especially the price. The most common price ranges that communities are looking at are figures around $3,000 just for the body.

Aside from the standout feature of increased sensor size, some expect that the Canon 5D Mark IV will even support 4K video, but this is still subjective as there is a dedicated cinema line for Canon's lineup of video cameras that doesn't even support 4k.

The Canon 5D Mark III's price at Amazon right now starts at $2,599 with the body only. It has more than adequate specs that will have prosumers and professionals alike drool over. Getting the 5D Mark IV may be a bit trivial with the $400 difference just for the 4K and the expanded resolution.

The Canon 5DS, on the other hand, has a whopping 50.6-megapixel sensor resolution with other beefed-up specs. However, there's no 4K resolution unless there's a workaround for it via Magic Lantern.

Deciding whether which one to get may still be a bit hard at this point, but it wouldn't be wrong to start saving up right now once the Canon 5D Mark IV is officially released.
