With rumors that Apple iPhone 7 might be released in September this year, few reports claimed that the company is planning to set the launch date of the iPhone 8 in 2018.

The Daily Mail reported that Apple will be including the rumored iris scanners in the iPhone 8, which has prompted the delay in the release date of the phone. To further add fuel to the rumors, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that thecompany will include new biometric features in the upcoming iPhone models.

Reports claimed that the iris scanners will follow unique recognition method to identify the user's pupil and generate a complex and random pattern, which will be unique to each individual. It is stated that the iPhone 8 will perform functions like making payments and unlocking the device with added security. Kuo also teased that the iPhone 8 might also sport facial scanners along with the Iris recognition technology.

Furthermore, the iPhone 8 is expected to include an edge-to-edge OLED display. Yahoo reported that the Apple smartphone will also sport an all-glass chassis and an AMOLED screen. It is stated that the company is also planning to eliminate the home button and integrate the Touch ID sensor into the phone's screen.

Moreover, there are reports that the iPhone 8 might sport the upcoming A10 processors. Rumors also hinted that as the company is planning for 2018 release, the smartphone might also consist of the next-generation A11 chipset, reported iTech Post. In addition, reports claimed that the smartphone will also feature wireless charging functionality.

Meanwhile, Life Hacker reported that the upcoming iPhone 7 will sport a thinner build and will be launched in three variants, namely the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 7 Premium. The Apple device is also likely to consist of 32 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB storage options.

The iPhone 7 is expected to be released on September 16.
