The latest downloadable content for Treyarch and Activision's "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3," "Descent," was released this week. Unfortunately, the new update did little to impress.

Here are some reviews we have gathered for "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Descent" DLC.

Destructoid - 6 out of 10

Destructoid gave the latest DLC a score of 6 out of 10, calling it a "steeper decline" compared to the first two DLC's "Awakening" and "Eclipse."

The new maps offered in the "Descent" DLC felt generic, and the ideas for the maps were not well-executed. Rumble features a "lame tunnel-based layout that forces cramped indoor firefights." What more frustrating was that only half of the "robot arena" is playable in the map.

The Berserk map is the same, offering nothing of the "viking village" feel that it was originally marketed for. Destructoid called it "average at best". Cryogen is worse, and feels like "a rejected 'Advanced Warfare' level."

The only two good things about the DLC, according to the review, are the Empire map, a remake of the classic Raid map from "Black Ops III," and the Zombie map Gorod Krovi.

God is a Geek - 6.5 out of 10

Video Game site God is a Geek also expressed disappointment in "Black Ops III"'s latest DLC.

The site found both Rumble and Cryogen map "a little bland," but called Berserk the most interesting map out of the four.

Like Destructoid, God is a Geek also praised the re-imagining of the classic Raid map, Empire. The map is visually stunning, but has slight issues with the bright color palettes used, which sometimes make spotting enemies a bit of a challenge.

The reviewer mentioned his lack of interest in the Zombies mode, but said that the Zombie map has once again saved the day, calling Gorod Krovi a very good map with "lots of secrets to cover which will keep fans of this mode busy for some time."

Post Arcade - 6.5 out of 10

Financial Post's video game section Post Arcade rated the new DLC a 6.5 out of 10. "Descent" was also praised for its Zombie map Gorod Krovi, calling the ruined Stalingrad setting "beautiful in an end of the world sort of way."

Post Arcade called Gorod Krovi "a surprising high point in this year's Zombies campaign."

However, the other four maps were the least favorite out of all three map packs offered by "Black Ops III."

The four new maps would probably draw the most hardcore "Black Ops III" veterans, but everybody else who isn't interested in the Zombies map can probably skip this one.
