After it was announced that "Orphan Black" season 5 will already be the last run of the series, many fans could have been awaiting for updates if a spinoff will eventually happen.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, show creator Graeme Manson hinted about the fate of the Canadian science fiction thriller TV series.
"We're always throwing ideas around," he dished when asked if they have already started working on "Orphan Black" season 5. "John and I have been on the phone and we've been spending a little time on it as we sort of cross paths between Toronto and Vancouver this spring."
"We've been grabbing our time on Skype and in person and we already have some pretty juicy ideas of where everybody lands and where we kick off next season," he added.
When it comes to the rumored "Orphan Black" spinoff, he had this to say: "Yes, there has been some loose talk of that, but I can't say where it's at right now."
While he appeared excited to crack his head for the anticipated new project after the fifth season, Manson pointed out that "at this point, that we know are going to be happening at all," and that they are "looking forward to a rest."
It can be recalled that in the middle of June, it was announced that "Orphan Black" has been renewed for its fifth and final season, according to Variety.
Amid this, both Manson and John Fawcett promised "to deliver an epic conclusion to the tale of Sarah and her clone sisters."
"The past four seasons have been a phenomenal adventure and we are eternally grateful to our loyal fans who have loved the twists and thrills of our weird little show," they continued to share about "Orphan Black" season 5 and did not say anything about the speculated spinoff.
