As Microsoft rolled out the Surface Pro 4 in October 2015, it is rather unlikely that the release date of the highly-anticipated Surface Pro 5 will be scheduled less than 12 months after its predecessor.
Although there are rumors that the Surface Pro 5's release will be revealed in May and launched in June 2016, there is a bigger chance that an announcement will be made in October of this year, according to Tech Advisor.
There are also speculations that another possible release date for the Surface Pro 5 could be in the Spring of 2017, as some have theorized that the reason for this possible timetable could be due to Microsoft's plan to launch its big Windows update by early next year.
Recent rumors further suggested that Microsoft wants the roll-out of the new update - dubbed Redstone or RS2 - to coincide with the release of its banner devices - the Surface Pro 5 and the Surface Book 2.
While there is still a good possibility that the release date of the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will be in October of this year, March 2017 might be a more feasible schedule for its launch.
This will give the company more time to get the product ready, and ensure that it contains the latest Kaby Lake processor.
Meanwhile, Tech Radar hints that the Surface Pro 5's price might start at $899 (£749, AU$1,349), and could increase depending on the configuration and accessories the user chooses.
As clients have lamented the Surface Pro 4's low battery life - five hours and five minutes for video playback - there is a proposal that this should be increased to at least seven hours.
There is also a suggestion that the device should be equipped with a 4K (3,840 pixels wide, at least) screen, un upgrade that would certainly boost its productivity and entertainment capabilities.
Although the Microsoft Surface Pro 5's release date remains under wraps, anticipation for the mobile device's roll-out is expected to surge in the coming months.
