The newly launched LG G5 smartphone is all about modular design and exceptional specs and features as compared to other smartphones available in the market. The LG device is far more superior to the Google's Project Ara modular phone.

The G5 is the first LG metal smartphone with modular casing and facility to expand modular designs. This device is stated to provide the device a matte and fancier curved look. NDTV claimed that the G5 phone also consists of a button on the lower left-hand side with which the users can slide out the bottom panel of the device.

The LG G5 smartphone sports an enhanced dual camera with 12.3-megapixels LG Action Cam module, which has the capability to capture HD, full HD or Ultra HD videos in excellent quality. This module has an additional 1200 mAh battery with dedicated buttons for the shutter.

Another module apart from the standard module is the Hi-Fi plus DAC module, which helps to improve the audio output of the smartphone.

The G5 smartphone sports two rear cameras of 16 and 8-megapixels resolution. IT Pro claimed that the primary rear camera is of 16-megapixels. The second 8-megapixels wide-angle camera helps the users capture landscapes, crowd shots, and other panoramic views very easily and without the need of special panorama mode. The G5 camera also enables users to stream videos directly to online platforms like YouTube Live. It also has water and dust-resistant functionalities.

Furthermore, the LG device consists of VR compatibility feature. This feature, along with the dual-lens camera, enables the G5 users to capture 360-degree panoramas and video shots easily.

In terms of firmware, the LG G5 has a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor paired and 4 GB RAM with 32 GB storage capacity and micro SD card support. It also consists of features like LTE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, gyroscope and accelerometer. The pre-installed operating system is Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The LG G5 is available on AT&T and is priced for $688.89.
