Although the initial reports suggested that "Attack of Titans" season 2 would be released later this year, new reports suggest that the release date might be delayed to January 2017.
The news came from Selecta Vision, the official licensor of the "Attack on Titan" anime in Spain, who said that "Attack on Titan's" main owner Kodansha informed them of the delay.
According to International Business Times, one of the main reasons why the anime has been delayed had something to do with the director, currently working on "Kabaneri of the Fortress."
In addition, the popular anime series is faced with lack of proper direction regarding the plot of second season. The producers have earlier mentioned that they are still struggling with the storyline from the magna version, reported The Bitbag.
Tetsuro Araki directed "Attack on Titans" season 1, which was developed by Wit Studio and Production I.G. Other notable creations of Araki include "Kotetsujou no Kabaneri" or "Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress" in English.
While four arcs are needed to push the new season, only two arcs have been completed till date. Thus, with two arcs in the work, the production of the anime series will definitely take longer time.
In other news, there has been rumors that the latest installments of "Clash of the Titans" arc will include Eren and his team facing a mysterious group of Titans. Although no confirmation have been found yet about this rumor, yet fans are excited about it.
Meanwhile, fans might have to wait a long time in order to know more about the possible release dates and storyline of "Attack on Titans". This is because the producers are still trying their best to get the storyline sorted, and wants the fans to take a guess at what might happen.
