Coach Christina Aguilera is presently proud of her accomplishes, as after several seasons, one of her students have managed to steal the crown! And guess who that is? None other than Alisan Porter!
Aguilera, who has been an original coach of the NBC's famous singing competition, reportedly took special notice, when Porter, a former child actress, sung the "Blue Bayou" of Ronstandt during the blind audition.
Notably, Porter is the first "Voice" contestant to win with a female coach. Previously, Blake Shelton has coached four winners, and Adam Levine has coached three. On the other hand, Usher and Pharrell Williams have each coached one winning contestants, according to Variety.
Porter, who had the title role in "Curly Sue" in 1991, had left the stage to spend some quality time with her family. In the blind audition round, the mother of two and stepmom to one mentioned that she wanted to see if she still had the fire in her.
Last Tuesday, Porter beat contestants representing the other coaches, Pharrell Williams' Nebraska based pre - school teacher Hannah Huston, Adam Levine's Laith Al - Saadi, a Michigan based musician and Blake Shelton's Adam Wakefield, a country rock singer, according to USA Today.
Wakefield secured the first runner up position, while Huston came in third and Al - Saadi landing in the fourth position.
Notably the star - studded final included performances from well-known singers like Ariana Grande, Little Big Town, Sia and former One Direction member Zayn Malik. The performances also included Blake Shelton performing a new track from his new album, and duets between Wakefield and Alison Krauss, Huston and former coach CeeLo Green, Al - Saadi and Joe Walsh, Porter and Jennifer Nettles.
However, before the series finale, all the four contestants had to perform in live Monday and gain viewer's vote to help decide on the winner. In the live Monday performance, they also had to pick one of their self composed songs.
