With the increase in rumors about the latest version of Nexus, many industry experts are under the belief that the latest version of Nexus will be released during the upcoming I/O conference.

According to Ubergizmo , when it comes to the release date of the device, the Google I/O conference is the perfect venue for showcasing the new Google Nexus 7 2016 tablet.

Set to take place at Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California on May 18 - 20, the Google I/O Developer's Conference 2016, will be functioning as a sort of trade fair for Google to show off some of its best and newest products.

Google, reportedly, might also unveil the upgraded and much anticipated Nexus 7 at the conference, which will feature Google's newest Android operating system. Codenamed the Android N, the operating system will be the latest in Google's line of Android operating systems, according to Vine Report.

The newest OS of Google might support features like pressure - sensitive display, like Apple's 3D Touch, and the Force Touch features of the iOS. Spiking the anticipation and the rumors surrounding Android N, Google released a second Android N Developer preview last month to Android Beta Program members.

Other rumored features of Android N will be a Vulcan API, Unicode 9 support and launcher shortcuts. Meanwhile, if the Nexus 7 is actually launched during the I/O Developer's Conference 2016, it will be after three long years of break in the Nexus line.

Previously Nexus 7's absence has caused the users to speculate that Google had decided to discontinue the line, but ASUS chairman Jonney Shih has previously revealed that the next Nexus 7 was not out of question, in an interview with Trusted Reviews.

Thus, it is yet to be seen if the Nexus 7 will be released during this period or not, but all the eager users can do is speculate about the same.
