With Adobe Flash almost out from the mobile world, it seems that the future for smartphones is represented by HTML 5 language, while alternate solutions like Silverlight are too proprietary.

Recent reports show one more round of battle between Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android, and this time Apple is the winner – it seems that HTML 5 language runs more smoothly on Apple devices, while Android is still catching its breath.

Spacesport.io tested a bunch of iOS and Android gadgets to see which one delivers the best performances. The ultimate goal was to compare the performance of latest HTML 5 applications on various hardware and software combinations, in order to reach the conclusion of which device is best equipped and offers the highest performance of the HTML 5 experience. Shockingly, it seems Apple’s iOS delivers about three times better performance than Google’s Android.

The iPad 2 leads the pack in offering the best HTML 5 experience, despite the superior hardware components of Android-based tablets such as Asus Transformer Pad and Samsung’s Galaxy Tab.

Among smartphones, the iPhone 4S also scores better than Android smartphones, handling over 200 moving objects while keeping a 30 frames per second rate.

However, this analysis only looks at Android and iOS platforms, and doesn’t take Microsoft’s Windows phones into the picture, despite the fact that Windows phones support extremely well HTML 5 version.
