Smart wearables are still in its infacy stages and a lot of tech companies are striving to leave a lasting mark that will secure a foundation for being the go-to company. The Huawei Watch is currently enjoying the spotlight even after its competitor, the Moto 360 smartwatch recently unveiled theirs. The new line of smart wearables will carve a niche for itself as it offers classic watch designs with a high-end vibe.

At first glance, the Huawei Watch and the Moto 360 look alike. The watch strap makes it distinctly different as the Moto 360 looks more contemporary than the classic leather strap design that Huawei went for. Designed by Ben Norton, a renowned watch maker for Fossil and Armani Exchange, the Huawei Watch took two months to design but almost a year to perfect. According to an article by AndroidPit, Huawei brough Norton on board, specifically to design its Smartwatch.

The Huawei Watch has a 1.4 inches full-circle AMOLED display with a Snapdragon 400 processor. It has 4 GB of internal storage with a 512 MB RAM. Missing from the list of features is the ability to connect via NFC, which may be a deal-breaker for some. This new gadget will feature a leather band base model priced at $349 and other models that allows you to mix and match several options of straps and colors. The Rose Gold model, Huawei's top of the line, will be priced at $799, making it one of the most expensive Android Wear device currently out in the market.

It's hard not to compare it to the Apple Watch because, let's face it, it's still the leading brand (despite how thin a margin) out there. In terms of measurement, the Huawei Watch is thinner, but has a larger screen (and better resolution) than the Apple Watch. Huawei also offers more variation than Apple, in terms of strap options. If that's not enough, it has a bigger battery capacity, a faster processor and is also compatible with iOS 8.2 onwards. Are we excited for this watch? Definitely.
