The full "Fallout 4" will be playable in VR starting from the very beginning up to the end of the game. This is according to Bethesda's Todd Howard who told Glixel about the game's VR adaptation.
Howard did not reveal the date if when it will happen but he said that the interface of Fallout 4 works very well in VR. He added that players can play it from beginning to end at the moment and that everything has jived with regard to its interface and all that, Game Reactor reported.
For example, the game can place the Pip-Boy on the character's wrist and with that, players can interact with the VR gadget intuitively by simply looking down at it, Tech Report noted. Howard also thinks that the combat mechanics of the game are a natural fit for virtual reality.
"The fact that the gunplay is a bit slower than in a lot of games has certainly helped us," he said. "But we have V.A.T.S, so you can pause or slow down the world." He further admitted that this project is not simple and Bethesda still has a tons of stuff to do.
Nonetheless, his exhilaration is not quenched and said that it's extremely enthralling. Similar to other developers, Bethesda is struggling with the issue of locomotion in virtual reality.
He said that Locomotion is the most difficult part of their project. Looking at the vastness of the world and the quantity being moved "Fallout 4", it gets tricky since they're putting a lot of work on those things.
He also said that they are on the stage of working on the teleport warp thing, and testing with other stuff. But there will be alternative approach available to players in terms of locomotion, which comes as a good news for those who have sensitive stomachs.Tune in for more "Fallout 4" news and the release date of "Fallout 4" VR edition.
