NES Classic Stock Update: Nintendo To Make Up For Demand Through SNES Classic Edition?
Blair GrantThere remains a high demand for the Nintendo NES Classic after its launch in November. While the Japanese gaming company promised to refresh its stocks to keep up with the increasing demand for the classic gaming console, will they be able to make up for the shortage through the SNES Classic Edition?
The Nintendo NES Classic Edition continues to face a shortage, as very few stocks can be found in stores and prices are soaring through third party sellers. The Japanese gaming company admitted to underestimating the demand for the classic gaming console, but it looks like they will be using this to release a better console in the future - the SNES Classic Edition.
According to Tech Spot, Nintendo may learn from the shortcomings of the NES Classic once they release the SNES Classic. Talks of the company releasing the Super Nintendo console began after they recently filed a trademark for the console.
For instance, Nintendo may release more stocks of the SNES Classic Edition than they first did with the NES Classic. As with the console's recent hacking, the gaming company may allow users to purchase additional games for the SNES Classic than just settle with just 30 pre-selected games.
This could mean that the SNES Classic may feature an online marketplace that allows users to choose from a list of available games for the console. The price for the SNES Classic is expected to run at almost the same price as that of the NES.
Other improvements may include the addition of a longer cable for the controller and a power button. Meanwhile, Business Insider notes that hackers recently discovered a secret message hidden in the system's code.
The said message found within the system of the Nintendo NES Classic Edition advises users to keep the system "tidied up" since it took a lot of effort to build the console. This message was uncovered while hackers decided to run the system in order to add more games to the console.
