Nokia Android Phones 2017 Adds Nokia DC1 As A Mid-Range Option? Two Variants With Android Nougat, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Processor Expected
Kirsten KaneNokia is set to make a grand return in the mobile industry with a new Android phone next year. It has been said that the handsets will compete with other high-end Android brands in the market as HMD Global is reported to bring in revolutionary specs and features on the device.
"We've been overwhelmed by the enthusiasm shown around the world for the return of the Nokia brand to smartphones," Interim President of Nokia Technologies, Brad Rodrigues said as reported by Trusted Reviews. "The HMD Global team has the ambition, talent and resources to bring a new generation of Nokia-branded phones to market, and we wish them every success. I'm sure our millions of Nokia fans will be excited to see their new products!"
Rumors are rife that the Nokia will launch more than one Android phones during the Mobile World Congress (MMC) in February 2017 and one of which is the Nokia DC1 which is expected to run a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor coupled with Adreno 505 GPU. It is also projected to sport a 5.5-inch full HD display.
The upcoming device is said to come out in two variants: the 2 GB RAM which might be priced at $150 and the 3 GB RAM which might be available at $200.
According to Phone Arena, the Nokia smartphones might likely "belong in the mid-range category," adding that the Finnish company is expected "to adopt an aggressive pricing strategy to seize as much market share as possible."
The source added that "the profit margins will definitely be low at first, but, hopefully, it will pave the way for the first Nokia-branded flagship smartphone in a long while."
Moreover, the new Nokia is expected to feature a 16 GB of internal storage and Android 7.0 Nougat, the new version of Google's mobile operating system. However, other reports suggest that it might be powered by Android 6.0 Marshmallow or the Android 8.0 which is still unannounced at present.
In terms of its camera, one model might have a 13 megapixels and the other 16 megapixels.
Nokia is yet to give its official statement regarding the rumored Android Phones that are expected to be released on 2017.
