Apple iPhone 8 A Rival To Samsung’s Galaxy S7 Edge? LG Innotek Dual-Lens Camera, Augmented Reality, 3D Photos & Wireless Charging Expected
Kirsten KaneApple is rumored to launch its new smartphone dubbed as iPhone 8 next year, though the giant company has just released its iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.
Rumors are rife that the highly anticipated handset will come out together with the Apple Watch 3 on September 2017. Other speculated that the Cupertino-based tech giant company will announce the iPhone 8 during iPhone's tenth anniversary in 2017.
Meanwhile, speculations have it that the device will undergo a major overhaul with revolutionary features and specifications unlike its predecessor. It has been said that the device might rival the Samsung's Galaxy S7 Edge.
CNET believes that the upcoming iPhone would feature a wireless charging.
"Samsung does it, and Apple is starting to, too. The wireless AirPods headphones may have been just the beginning. Next year's iPhone could do away with the last physical wire: the Lightning cable needed for charging."
Apart from it the source added that the iPhone 8 "will become curved" which is somehow unique from other models.
"Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo at KGI Securities has predicted that Apple will introduce a new curved AMOLED display in 2017. That'd be a big change from the LCD screens in today's iPhones - AMOLED is thinner, lighter, more flexible, and more power efficient."
Moreover, Apple has filed a new patent called "Electronic Devices with Display and Touch Sensors Structures" as reported by Forbes.
"The patent describes a technique where touch sensors can be placed around any side of a device allowing for new input sources. The patent also notes that physical buttons (such as the volume controls) could be replaced by these embedded touch sensors."
There were also reports suggesting that the Apple would introduce augmented reality (AR) and add the capability to snap 3D photos on its latest handset. It has been said that the giant company is now working with LG to achieve this kind of technology. With this, Apple is likely to use 'LG Innotek' dual-lens camera for iPhone 8.
Other reports state that Apple's new product might have a folding element. Speculations also have it that the iPhone 8 will be priced at $649, like the iPhone 7 but will increase depending on the storage size.
Apple is yet to comment on the rumors regarding the iPhone 8.
