The second season of popular political drama House of Cards is now available on Netflix, with all 13 episodes ready for a marathon.
House of Cards has won no less than three Emmy awards earlier this year, and lots of fans were eagerly waiting for the next season. As promised, Netflix has released the complete House of Cards Season 2 on Friday, Feb. 14, allowing avid viewers to gorge on all 13 episodes in one day if they so prefer.
The show's Twitter account posted a teaser video earlier, but rest assured that it doesn't contain any spoilers that would ruin your experience. In fact, it's a 30-second video that gives virtually zero details of what to expect from the second season. The short clip ends with an upside-down American flag and the date 02/14/14 written underneath, hinting at the new season's release.
"In the second season, Francis (Spacey) and Claire (Wright) Underwood continue their ruthless rise to power as threats mount on all fronts," touts a press release announcing the second season's availability. "Zoe Barnes (Kate Mara, 'American Horror Story'), an up-and-coming reporter and Francis' former paramour, is inching closer to the truth about his crimes. President Walker's (Michel Gill, 'The Good Wife') billionaire confidante Raymond Tusk (Gerald McRaney, 'Southland') demands that Francis reciprocate political favors or face retribution. And Claire must confront the increasing glare of the spotlight as it eats away at her and Francis's once private existence. The Underwoods must overcome these dangers - past and present - to avoid losing everything, regardless of collateral damage they leave in their wake."
The intricate political drama has proved that Netflix can come up with original, high-quality TV shows all on its own, and the first season stirred an entire frenzy. Netflix released all 13 episodes of the first season at once, and the on-demand streaming company is now repeating the same scheme, as expected.
