Facebook has just released a new app that is aimed at making viewing Facebook videos easier on fourth generation Apple TVs. While there is already a way to view content from Facebook on Apple TVs via AirPlay and through the Facebook app itself, the new app simply streamlines the process as well as adding new functionalities and features.

According to 9to5 Mac, the company originally announced its plans to release the app last month. Facebook claimed that the app would change the way users will be consuming Facebook content as it will give them an easier way to navigate through all the clutter to find the latest and greatest videos that are relevant to their interests.

The new Facebook Video app for tvOS had already debuted on select Samsung Smart TVs, but the recent release to Apple TVs should broaden its reach to even more viewers. The official description for the Facebook Video app reveals that it will be letting viewers scan through different videos that are shared by their friends and from the pages they follow. It will also offer users relevant videos based on their viewing history and their preferred topics. Previously watched videos can also be easily accessed through the app for easy rewatching.

The Facebook Video app generally streamlines the entire process of watching Facebook videos on Apple TVs as it will automatically sift through and organize the videos into easy to navigate categories. This means that users won't have to scroll through pages and pages of videos just to find the video they most likely will want to watch.

The Facebook Video app for tvOs is now available to download from the tvOS App Store for free. There is also no need to search for the app itself as it is now being featured on the front page of the tvOS App Store. Additionally, Facebook is reportedly in negotiations with different sports organizations, such as the Major League Baseball, to stream their games live on Facebook.
