"Jane the Virgin" Season 3 spoilers reveal that Michael's death has been a part of the creator and writers' plan since the beginning of the show. In a recent interview with TVLine, series creator Jennie Urman shares that they thought about this storyline carefully since they know that a lot of viewers have grown fond of the character.

Urman admitted that they had to examine and reexamine the story a couple of times, but eventually came up with the midseason finale shocker for "Jane the Virgin" Season 3. According to Urman, this puts to an end all the romantic ideals and fantasies that Jane had about her life and shows her what reality looks like.

Urman teased, however, that while Michael is definitely dead in "Jane the Virgin" Season 3, viewers will still see his character every now and then in the form of flashbacks. As most fans can recall, the midseason finale showed a three-year time jump.

In a post on Tumblr, Urman also responded to the backlash from fans surrounding the recent "Jane the Virgin" Season 3 midseason finale shocker. According to Urman, what happened during those three years - how Jane felt following Michael's death and how she coped up - will be addressed in the upcoming episodes.

This made a lot of fans wonder whether Jane will find a new love interest when "Jane the Virgin" Season 3 returns on air. Several fans, however, expressed that Jane should not immediately find one since it is still too early for her character to move on.
