In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter (THR), "This Is Us" creator Dan Fogelman revealed some juicy bit of information about the storyline of this season's "This Is Us". Fogelman gave hints about what is in store for Toby after his stroke and teased with a devastating episode that might happen in the back half of this season.

Avid fans of the "This Is Us" TV series had to wait for five grueling weeks before finally knowing whether Toby survived or not from the heart attack he suffered last season. In the interview with THR, Fogelman revealed that the producers of the popular TV show had already decided earlier that Toby, played by Chris Sullivan, will survive the heart attack.

Fogelman also revealed that the recovery process for Toby will take a long time and this would mean Toby had to stay in New York. A chunk of Toby and Kate's story in this season of "This Is Us" will be centered on Toby's recovery especially after the bedside proposal.

Aside from the Toby and Kate love story this season, a lot of focus should also be given in Jack's storyline this season. "This Is Us" rumors have already spread that there will be a devastating event this season. Fogelman said that the devastating event could probably refer to the storyline of Jack, played by Milo Ventimiglia. However, Fogelman also hinted that there are some pretty hard and heavy storylines that will be happening in this season.

However, this does not mean that viewers will not be given a breather with all the heavy stuff that is in store in this season of "This Is Us". Fogelman said in the interview that he and the show's producers always try to strike the balance between the heavy stuff and humor in every episode of "This Is Us".
