Fox's real-time action drama series, 24, is back on TV. Though, this time, without our original favorite, Jack Bauer (wait, what?). There has been a new spinoff, and things will be different for the upcoming 24 reboot series.
From an update on Digital Spy, Kiefer Sutherland, who plays the role of Jack Bauer, has ever been giving clues that he might be out on 24 and that he wanted to "bring a sense of closure" to the series. Despite the fact that Fox wanted him to stay and continue playing the lead role for the series, he said he is definitely done being Jack Bauer.
Howard Gordon, who has been a part of the show since the very first, has confirmed that 24 have a spinoff and it will be focused on a new protagonist.
Back in January 2016, Fox had officially announced the comeback of 24, with a subtitle as Legacy. The story would revolve on Eric Carter, a former Army Ranger, who returns to the United States from the Middle East. He comes under attack from the group that is led by the terrorist, Bin-Khalid who followed him back from the warzone.
With Jack Bauer's people, the Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU), Eric Carter is set in an operation to stop the unimaginable terrorist attacks. The characters that we will be expecting are the following, as reported in Forbes. Our new hero - 27-year-old Corey Hawkins as Eric Carter, who played the role of Heath on The Walking Dead and Dr Dre on Straight Outta Compton.
Ashley Thomas, as Eric's older brother Isaac, who are not in good terms because of their shared romantic history with Eric's wife Nicole (Anna Diop). Miranda Otto as Rebecca Ingram, the former head of CTU and the wife of US presidential candidate John Donovan (Jimmy Smits). Teddy Sears as Keith Mullins, who's replaced Rebecca as CTU boss, while Andy (Dan Bucatinsky) and newcomer Gia (Coral Peña) are the expert analysts.
24: Legacy will debut on Feb. 5, 2017, following the Super Bowl. Keep posted for more update on your best-loved television series!
