Military tactical shooters are always selling like pancakes when immersed in video games and 2017 is teeming with such genre. Don a soldier's outfit and wreck havoc shoot 'em all style gameplay that will surely make our new year action packed again. So without much ado, let us round up those shooters that await dear players.
Going into timeless World War 2 era-niched gameplay, "Battalion 1944" from Bulkhead Interactive tops the list. This group is somewhat new in the gaming scene but most of their developers are coming off AAA ward so expect a great shooter treat. "Battalion 1944" employed real world encounters like the streets of Carentan and Bastogne woods as battlegrounds. Yes, this shooter is reminiscent of "Battlefield 1," albeit the World War 1 setting of the latter.
Another shooter where gamers can wield realistic guns is "Insurgency: Sandstorm." This offering from developer New World Interactive is revamped version of the original "Insurgency" that was released in 2014. Gather your teammates and take advantage of several "Insurgency: Sandstorm" co-op team games. Unfortunately, developers did not peg specific date yet apart from confirmation that the game is out next year.
"Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3" is a game for those who love ranged shooting. Keep your distance and take on enemies one by one for the classic "one shot, one kill" ethos of "Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3." CI Games will release this game on April 4 where players took on the personal of retired marine Jonathan North.
Of course, 2017's list of military-inspired shooters isn't going to be complete without "Ghost Recon Wildlands." Rally your team in the streets, dirt roads and forests of Bolivia as you hunt elements of drug cartel in this explosive game. "Ghost Recon Wildlands" is the tenth iteration from Tom Clancy's series but what sets this apart is Ubisoft's promise of vast open world. Stealth, decisiveness, surprise and firepower are needed to survive this game.
