One of the biggest gripes about switching to an entirely new mobile operating system would have to be how difficult it is to transfer all important data from one smartphone to another. While the steps are relatively easy if a user is switching to a device with a similar operating system, the task becomes more daunting if it is not the case.

Now, Google has presented a new way that will make it easier for users to switch from iOS to Android through the recently updated Google Drive. The company has also modified their Switch page, which now details the features of their new Google Drive update. Through this app, which is now available to download in the App Store, iPhone users can now back up all their pertinent data in one simple procedure.

The backup process allows one to temporarily store all phone data --- including contacts, calendar events, photos, and videos. The restoration process will then place all of those data into their respective places such as on Android's Contacts app, Photos app, and Google Calendar. Google Drive apparently does all of these tasks automatically, negating the need to back up all the data manually for each Android or Google app.

To utilize the new feature, users must download Google Drive onto their iOS device first, then initiate backup by using the backup tool. Upon setting up the new Android device, users just have to sign in to the G-Mail account they've used to perform the iOS device backup. Google Drive does the rest and users should be able to find all of their data within their respective apps.

But as of the moment, there is still no way to transfer all text messages from iOS to Android. Users can, however, use an OTG adapter to achieve this with the help of a third-party data export app.
