George R.R. Martin's "Winds of Winter" is one of the most anticipated books to date. Fans surely will be glad as the "Game of Thrones" author hinted the release of his book, which is rumored to kill some major characters.
There have already been many reports regarding the upcoming release of the sixth installment of "A Song of Ice and Fire" by George R.R. Martin entitled "Winds of Winter." Many have claimed that it will be released before the premiere of "Game of Thrones" season seven.
The 68-year-old writer set off those alarm bells in the November 28 post of his Not a Blog Live Journal page as he talked about his latest fan meet-and-greet.
"My first real visit to Mexico starts tomorrow, when I jet down to Guadalajara for the Guadalajara International Book Fair," he wrote.
"This is my last scheduled event for 2016. My appearance schedule for 2017 is very limited, and will remain so until Winds is completed. So if you want to meet me or get a book signed, this will be the last chance for a good few months," he added.
With this, fans are quick to speculate that he is promising to finish " Winds of Winter" in a few months.
In February, George assured his devotees the book is his only current project.
"I am not writing anything until I deliver "Winds of Winter"," he wrote on Live Journal. "Teleplays, screenplays, short stories, introductions, forewords, nothing."
Meanwhile, no official word had been released by author George R.R. Martin yet, but the book has been rumored to be launched before "Game of Thrones" Season 7, and Jon Snow including Daenerys, may ultimately face death.
According to some media sources, in a previous interview with George R.R. Martin, he had claimed that after "The Winds of Winter" installment, there would be no characters surviving the events. This would then mean that even the most beloved characters have a fair chance of meeting their deaths before the seventh book, "A Dream of Spring."
It has also been reported, however, that the story of "The Winds of Winter" will see many changes as compared to what Martin had originally planned. This may then spark hope to the fans of the "A Song of Ice and Fire" franchise, as the lives of some characters may then be spared.
For now, fans will still have to wait until the official announcement is released. Stay tuned for more "Winds of Winter" release date updates.
