For beginners, two of the best choices would usually fall under the brands Canon and Nikon. With the D3400 and the 1300D, starters will have a lot of features that can get them started, but which entry-level DSLR is better?
Here's a quick rundown of the specs for both the cameras, which could help those looking for specific features and figures.
Sensor and Image Quality
On paper, the Nikon D3400 has the bigger true-resolution with 24MP, while the Canon 1300D only has 18. However, this isn't to say that a comparison between their qualities will greatly differ as they have slight differences between their sensor sizes.
The Nikon D3400 has an APS-C sensor with the size of 23.5 x 15.6 mm and the canon has the same format with 22.3 x 14.9 mm.
In terms of other specs like Auto Focus points, ISO, and continuous shooting speed, the Nikon D3400 gets all the advantages by being one step ahead with the 1300D's offering.
Video
In terms of video shooting, the Nikon D3400 also gets a huge advantage over the Canon 1300D as it has a full 1080p 60 frames per second capability, wherein the Canon 1300D only supports 1080p at 30 frames per second.
This is pretty useful, especially for those who intend to add special effects and wants more creative freedom with their videos. However, the Canon 1300D still has an option for 720p HD with 60 frames per second, which could be good enough for some.
Price
This is where things could be a bit tricky. The Nikon D3400 is priced higher than the Canon 1300D and that sounds pretty normal. However, with just a price difference of almost a hundred bucks, consumers will get almost twice the features and more snapping power. The Canon 1300D might still be a good option, especially those who have used them for a long time.
