With "DriveClub VR" being recently released, Microsoft's Xbox One and PC exclusive game "Forza Horizon 3" isn't a title that would be left out in the virtual reality scene. Talks about a VR version are already around, but will it work better than Sony's exclusive racing sim?
"DriveClub VR," while a great game on its own, has its own shortcomings as well and as much as fans of the title wouldn't wish for it, the VR version of the game went a bit downhill. A number of reviews we've rounded up pretty much concludes that "DriveClub VR" is still "DriveClub," but with downgraded visuals, decreased weather effects and sometimes blurry experience.
For those who own both consoles or even a PC, the next best thing that they could turn into would either be "Project: CARS" or the recently released "Forza Horizon 3." While not exactly the same "racing simulation" type of game, "Forze Horizon 3" is still fans' number one contender against Sony's exclusive racer.
Fortunately for those who would like to get the same VR experience for something different other than "DriveClub VR," Ralph Fulton, Creative Director of "Forza Horizon 3," is looking forward to work on a VR version of the arcade racer as he got interviewed by The Sun UK
He told The Sun that their team is quite looking forward to integrate virtual reality mechanics on the game specifically saying ""We've got Oculus Rift and HTC Vive around the studio for our staff to use."
"We enjoy using that and we are quite excited about the future for that, but we've got nothing to talk about right now." he added though.
There's no actual pinned date for the announcement, but given the trend of most games of today, taking advantage of the VR could spell immersion and innovation to such games, especially those which are intended to be played at a first person perspective like first person shooters and racing sims.
Hopefully, there wouldn't be too much graphical degradation and the VR implementation will be done better for "Forza Horizon 3," though it's more than just an alright game on its own.
