With Mercedes Benz presenting its vision with electric mobility through the Generation EQ model, the German Automaker is presenting a strong contest to the 2016 Tesla X. Here's a comparison between the Mercedes prototype and the Tesla Model X.

The first thing you notice between the two models is the falcon wings present in Tesla Model X. The Falcon Wing doors provide an easier way for second and third-row seats, a feature which helps in a tight parking space, unlike the traditional SUV ones.

When it comes to the Generation EQ model, everyone quickly notices the black panel front grille which has the white illuminated Mercedes symbol and other front lighting elements under the same cover.

According to Mashable, the all new green SUV prototype from Mercedes can drive 310 miles on a single charge accelerate to 62mph under 5 seconds. The Tesla model X claims to offer 280 miles on a single charge and accelerate to 60mph under 3 seconds.

The Mercedes EQ in the first look seems to be slightly spacious than the Tesla X model. Although both automakers are making use of new technology on the inside, with OLED displays for driving data, navigation, it seems to be more pronounced in the case of the Mercedes EQ. Again, the number of physical buttons present in the Mercedes model is far less than what we have in Tesla Model X.

The sensors and safety measures have been one of the significant selling points for Tesla X model, whereas Mercedes is yet to provide specific details regarding same and the battery pack.

Mercedes Benz is not expected to launch the Generation EQ model anytime soon. As per Car Scoops, the production version is scheduled to hit markets in 2019. The specifications could change from what is reported in the prototype. If the specifications do get translated, then the Tesla Model X could have a tough competition ahead in the electric car market.
