Although "Narcos" season 2 is set to premiere on September 2, bad and inevitable news awaits fans of the Netflix series.

Wagner Moura has recently confirmed that he will depart the Netflix drama series after the upcoming season 2. Moura, who plays the role of Pablo Escobar, the Colombian drug dealer, confirmed on Wednesday at Television Critics Association summer press tour that his character will be killed off in this season.

"This is definitely the last season for me," Moura said. In real life the drug lord Escobar died at the age of 43, in 1993.

According to the actor, the upcoming season will be more "character driven" and will cover a small period of 18 months, wherein Escobar will be seen losing his power, money, and safety, reported the Hollywood Reporter.

"This is the season where we're going to start see the fall of this guy," Moura said. "We're going to see Pablo Escobar very vulnerable."

Although it has been hinted before that "Narcos" will be a limited edition Netflix cartel drama, this means that a huge change for the creative plot of the drama. This news comes at a time when the drama has not been renewed for season 3, which keeps the fans wondering if this will be the last season.

However, executive producer Jose Padilha mentioned that the show is "still going to be the show it is," and it will take on a broad prospective in season three and show other drug dealers of the area.

"The show is not about Pablo," executive producer José Padilha said. "Pablo Escobar happens to be the man who created the mass business of cocaine trade. He's, for lack of a better word, the founding father of this business but the show is about cocaine. It's about drug dealers that deal cocaine."

It seems that the upcoming season of "Narcos" will be an action packed one, and viewers will have to tune in to Netflix on September 2 to catch all the action.
