Even though Samsung's J-series smartphones Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 have many similar features, they are different in terms of performance and battery specs. The best buy option amongst the two will depend on your set of requirements.

PC-Tablet reported that the Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 is a premium smartphone with a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED HD display and Exynos 7870 Octa Core processor. It is also reported to be paired with Mali T830 graphics card. On the other hand, the Galaxy J5 2016 features a 5.2-inch HD Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen and Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor.

Apart from the performance related features, the two Samsung J-series smartphones are also reported to consist of different battery specs. According to the Gizmo Times, the Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 sports a 3300mAh battery, which has the ability to deliver up to 23 hours of talk time., while the Galaxy J5 2016 features a smaller 3,100mAh battery.

In terms of storage specs, both the Galaxy J7 2016 and Galaxy J5 2016 device are reported to be similar. They sport 2GB RAM with 16GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 128GB. Likewise, Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 and J5 2016 both are equipped with a 13MP rear camera with HDR, autofocus and dual-LED flash along with a 5MP front-facing snapper, reported Neuro Gadget

Furthermore, the two J-series smartphones are also reported to be similar on the software front. Both the Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 and J5 2016 consist of the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS along with the unique platform features like Google Now on Tap, additional quick settings toggles for Private Mode, etc.

Meanwhile, there are reports that the two will contain a new feature called as S Bike mode, which guarantees that the bike-rider attends to the call after halting.

While the Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 is priced at $355, the Galaxy J5 2016 is available for $310.
