Between the Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 and the Sony Xperia Z5, which smartphone could give more value to your money?

Both run on Android OS, however, the Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 has the v6.0.1 (Marshmallow), while the Sony Xperia Z5 has the Android OS, v5.1.1 (Lollipop), still upgradable to v6.0 (Marshmallow).
