The latest trending rumors about SpaceX and Port Canaveral hint at the possibility that if both parties come to a mutual lease agreement, then it may create more aerospace jobs in the region. According to the Port Canaveral representative, Bruce Deardoff, SpaceX is currently in talks with the Port authorities in order to acquire permission to lease land on the north side of the port's inlet.

Florida Today reported that SpaceX is trying to acquire this land so as to build a new facility to receive, house and refurbish Falcon 9 booster rockets just after they land on the company's drone ships in the nearby area. The reports suggest that if the deal is struck then more jobs would be created in order to carry out the refurbishing activities.

"We are really excited to have them in the Port," said Port Canaveral's CEO, Captain Murray, as reported by Fox 35 Orlando. "And we are excited about the business they are bringing to the community. This is just an ongoing discussion that will continue."

According to few reports, SpaceX currently carries the landed Falcon 9 boosters all the way back to the Air Force station warehouse from the drone ship area. But, if the company is able to acquire land near the Port Canaveral, then the transport cost and time would be saved and SpaceX would be able to refurbish the rockets at the Port itself, which is reported to be much near than the Air Force base, claimed Space News.

Meanwhile, the recent reports suggest that a fee of $15000 has been settled by SpaceX and the port authorities for each Falcon 9 rocket booster, which will be docked at the port.

Moving on, the recent unsuccessful Falcon 9 landing attempt is reported to have occurred due to early liquid oxygen depletion, according to SpaceX's CEO Elon Musk. He said that the oxygen depletion led to the engine shutdown just before landing, reported Inverse.

The recent reports claimed that the next SpaceX launch would take place on July 16, 2016, at 12.45 a.m. EST from the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. The upcoming launch would mark the ninth space trip for the company.
